COSTUME AND SHOE PICK UP -- MONDAY, JULY 27, 4:00-7:00
We still have several recital costumes that have not been picked up. We know some of you were on vacation and have made arrangements for pick up. MDA staff will be at the studio TOMORROW, MONDAY, JULY 27 from 4:00-7:00. Please drive to the BACK of the buildig (95th Place).
If you made prior arrangements, then please email us to confirm your pick up times.
UNDERGARMENTS FOR STUDENTS IN MULTIPLE CLASSES
Students in multiple classes that require the bodice to be changed (this does NOT include Pre-Ballet/Tap 2 combination classes unless they are in Hip Hop Minis and Pre-Jazz Hip Hop also), should wear a nude-color undergarment or a leotard with spaghetti straps. We have nude camisolves available at the studio for sale. If you want to pick one up at the studio TOMORROW, MONDAY, JULY 27 from 4:00-7:00, please email your child’s size, or we can look it up based off recital costume measurements.
CHANGING TENTS FOR STUDENTS IN MULTIPLE CLASSES
For students who are in multiple classes, we will have individual pop-up changing tents outside near the “venue” (the pavilion at “50 Acre Park” for an OUTDOOR rehearsal/performance and the EPCHS Sports Facility for an INDOOR rehearsal/performance). A parent will help each child remove and put on all accessories in open space and then students can change their bodice in the pop-up tent. This will help keep things moving. If you feel more comfortable with your child changing in your car or your own tent, please feel free to do so as long as it can be expeditiously.
DRESS REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE REMINDERS
Just a reminder, our rehearsals/performances will be held the weeks of August 3 (dress rehearsal) and week of August 10 (performance) for all classes EXCEPT for advanced levels 2 and 3 in ballet, modern, and jazz. These advanced classes will meet on Friday, July 31 and will receive an email specific to their performance needs.
Our plan is to hold the rehearsals/performances OUTSIDE. Our second and third options are back up plans for inclement weather or COVID-related:
1. OUTDOOR rehearsal/performance at the pavilion of “50 Acre Park” on 94th Street just east of California Avenue, Evergreen Park
2. INDOOR (in inclement weather) rehearsal/performance at the EPCHS Sports Facility at 2700 W 94th Street, Evergreen Park
3. ZOOM (if Illinois has returned to Stage 3 of COVID)
Due to social distancing needs, the performances are for immediate (household) family only.
Students should wear costumes to both the rehearsal AND performance.
Our 2020 recital won't be performed in an auditoriumm under spotlights and a big audience with extended family and friends, but the show must go on! Hello, Broadway! will still be memorable, and it will reflect the reality of our 2019-2020 dance year. The pictures of the pavilion at "50 Acre Park" below will be our makeshift stage. For classes that have a large enrollment and cannot social-distance well enough on the pavilion, they may perform in the lawn right by the pavilion.
Parents can park at either parking lot of “50 Acre Park” or EPCHS Sports Facility.
